Since 1957, KBTX has been the voice of the Brazos Valley, broadcasting from our humble beginnings on East 29th Street in Bryan. Harry Gillam, KBTX’s first general manger, pledged the station’s full services “to make Bryan better known as a good place to live and work.”
What started as the smallest TV station, nestled between pastures, has blossomed into a nationally recognized powerhouse.
Today, KBTX stands as the only full-power station in the Brazos Valley, delivering over 27 hours of award-winning local news each week. Our commitment to the community is unwavering—we donate over a million dollars in advertising and sponsorships annually, and our Food for Families Drive brings the equivalent of more than a million pounds of food to the Brazos Valley Food Bank each year.
For almost 70 years, KBTX has been dedicated to making Bryan/College Station a better place to live and work. We’re proud to share your stories and look forward to serving the Brazos Valley for decades to come.
